Rockabilly meets Goth = "Gothabilly"

I was getting ready for Rockabilly event. I put on my polka dot dress from brand called Fishbone. They are really beautiful and comfortable, they look like something Amy Winehouse would wear and that's why I love them so much.
As usually, they are a bit too short. They just cover my butt and normally I wear leggings with them but this time I chose to wear pantyhose. I fixed the problem with putting sheer black skirt under them which worked as petticoat.

I decided to wear pumps with this outfit. These are from brand Even & Odd and they are perfectly matching my dress (even the dots are equally big, how cool is that?). I also sneaked a pair of ballerinas in my purse because I knew I wasn't going to be able to walk few hours with high heels.

The tough decision was to find a jacket or cardigan which would look cool with this dress. I tried a simple vintage black cardigan but I found it a bit boring. I also tried a black hoodie but I didn't like it. Then I went for Victorian gothic black cardigan from Poizen Industries.
I think it looks awesome together.

I did my hair in 40's Victory Rolls style which was a real pain in the ass because for me personally it's one of the most complicated hairstyles I know. But yet I managed somehow and it looked close enough to what I was going for.

How to rock a skirt

So I had this skirt from brand called Dept. It is pretty simple A shaped skirt, black with grey & white pattern and a quite funny bow with a zipper on the side. It kind of remind me of a catholic school girl uniform ;) so I decided it to rock it a bit.
I paired it with simple black top and my DIY spike belt with a chain on the side. I can't help it but I really love chains.

I'm wearing again my New Rocks M 362-S1 boots.

Motörhead patch on a simple black vest

Hotpants & ellegance

This combination of items is quite random actually. I wouldn't even call it an outfit. It was just trying out what would go with these hotpants and this top seemed quite well matching. The belt is actually there to hide the naked skin because the top ends few cm above the hotpants :)
I think it would work better with a corset.

I bought those hotpants in a thrift-store very cheap. I didn't really like them because they weren't hotpants but shorts. Pretty mainstream old lady shorts I would say. Then I saw an interesting pair of hotpants in some magazine. They had attached strips and some metal rings, spikes and all that fun stuff to it. I really liked the idea so I thought I would try to transform my ugly shorts to cool hotpants.

First of all I narrowed and shortened the leg pipes. Then I removed the pocket flaps and buttons on them (they looked ridiculous). From the leftover pieces of fabric I made strips and I attached them with metal rings I removed from some other old piece of clothing (I think it was actually a purse).
And voila - cool hotpants.

The only thing left for me is to figure out what should I wear them with. Let me know your ideas please. I'll be glad to hear what would you pair them with and how do you like this combination.

Motörhead fan

This outfit is awesome for any kind of rock or metal concert. It is very comfortable, but still very cool and stylish.
I love wearing hotpants but I really need to wear something under them (to mask the cellulitis, nobody is perfect, right?). I chose the leggings I mentioned in my previous article.
I paired my hotpants (and leggings) with my favorite Motörhead shirt. I would wear this outfit with any kind of band shirt as long as it's not too colorful. I think the black and white combination is just the best. To give this outfit more "rock chick" accent, I added Seven Sisters' grey denim vest with spikes. I completed the look with 2 necklaces and a wristband. The boots are New Rocks M 362-S1.

I guess that's all I can say about this outfit. Let me know if you like it.

All-black with DIY items

It was really fun to put this outfit together. The main item is the dress which I wanted to dress up a bit (this was my outfit for Gore Grind fest). The dress itself is too short so I had to put leggings under it. I customized them myself - I just cut a bunch of horizontal stripes across my thighs with scissors, noting difficult. It made them look more edgy and interesting which I like way more than just plain boring black leggings.
The next DIY item is the hoodie. This final look is total coincidence. Originally this hoodie had quite a bunch of rhinestones on its back and on sleeves. I bought it years ago during my mainstream era but I never actually wore it. Now I was wondering if I should throw it away or if I should try to make it cool. So I decided to remove the rhinestones at the first place. I took a sharp knife and tried to remove them this way. Because they were glued pretty tight anytime the rhinestone got removed it took a small piece of fabric with it. When all of those rhinestones were gone the hoodie looked like somebody shot it several times - all holes everywhere. As I looked at it I thought about 2 options I had - either to try to fix the holes or make the holes bigger. I chose the second option. I took a pair of sharp scissors and started stabbing. I had to keep the stabbed area stretched so I could achieve bigger holes. I discovered that more holes I made, the better it looked. So that was the hoodie story.
The next DIY item is the belt.
I always wanted belt with spikes but I could never find it in the shop. When I finally did it was too small for me and of course it was the last piece in the store. That made me give up hope that I will ever find it in the shop but I thought that I could still try to make it myself somehow.
I bought few bags of spikes with holes through them which can be sewed onto something with a needle and  a thread. I also had a textile belt from a dress I wasn't wearing (the belt, not the dress). The next step I did is pretty obvious - I sewed the spikes on the belt. It took me few hours because I tried to make  rows with spikes straight which wasn't that easy but I think it looked pretty cool once it was finished.
The final "top cherry" item are my beautiful New Rocks boots (M 362-S1) which I wear all the time with all outfits because they just fit to everything.
